App Settings
Light and dark mode
Section titled “Light and dark mode”BlokSec supports both light and dark themes. By default, the app follows your phone’s system setting — if your phone is in dark mode, BlokSec will be too.
To change the theme manually, go to Settings and tap Appearance.
App permissions
Section titled “App permissions”BlokSec requests a few permissions to work properly. Here’s what each one is for and why it’s needed.
Camera
Section titled “Camera”Used to scan QR codes. You’ll use this when signing in via QR code and when restoring an account from a backup QR code. BlokSec only accesses your camera when you’re actively scanning — it’s never used in the background.
Photos
Section titled “Photos”Used for your profile image and backup QR codes. You can set a profile photo from your library, and when you create a backup, the app saves the encrypted QR code to your photos. When restoring, you can import a saved QR code from your photo library instead of scanning it.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”Used to send sign-in requests to your phone. When you start signing in to a BlokSec-protected application, a push notification lets you approve the request without opening the app first. Without this permission, you’ll need to use QR code or SMS/email sign-in instead.
Location
Section titled “Location”Used to verify where sign-in requests are coming from. When you approve a sign-in, the app captures your approximate location and displays it alongside the request details. This helps you confirm that the sign-in attempt is coming from a location that makes sense — an extra layer of security so you can spot anything unusual.
